Tech Specs

Activforce < —> Activforce 2 compatibility

Will Activforce V1 be sunsetted?
Yes, once we have the premium features.

If an existing user does not want to upgrade from V1 will they still be able to use the features (but not the dashboard)?
If they have the app installed. Yes for a time. Eventually no because we don’t want to support the old code infrastructure infinitely (see sunsetting above)

If an Activforce V1 User has an account can they login to Activforce v2?
Yes, but none of their data from V1 will be available V2. The user must have had a trial or license code attached to their account so when we update our database we assign the correct authorization. So if they have ever used a Trial or License activation code on their account they will be able to login to V2.

If someone purchases Activforce V2 can they login to V1?
No, they will need to request an activation code from support. Once they have an activation code they will be able log into V1.

Will a User’s data from V1 be available in V2?
Yes, but it will be updated to fit the new structure. When we support patient management in the future premium subscription, we will do a one-time migration so AF users who have saved patient data can view that data in the new app. Following that migration, any data saved in the old app will not be viewable in the new app and vice versa.

Will a User’s data from V2 be available in V1?
No, data will not be available in V1 that is created in V2.

How does a V2 user activate their account?
This is done by connecting an IMU device that is sold as an Activforce Device. After they signup or login, we ask them to connect their device. If that device has not been used to activate another account it will associate that device to their account for activation purposes.

Can a user use the IMU device with V1?
Yes, it will only do force testing but it can be used with V1.

How accurate is the device?
With regards to strength measurement, the device is 1.4 lbs +/-% of the applied force.

What is the maximum force the device can measure?
200 lbs or 90 kg.

Is the ActivForce 2 device waterproof?
The AF2 device and attachments are water-resistant. They may be wiped down with a damp cloth or disinfecting wipe.

How long will the battery last?
Your AF2 device uses a AAA battery that will last up to a year, depending on usage.

How do I change the battery?
Follow these directions.

Will my account be tied to a specific device? To create a new Activforce 2 account, you will need a new Activforce 2 device that has not been “activated.” Once you create an account, it can be connected to any Activforce 2 device.

Does the device ever need to be calibrated or tared?
Your Activforce 2 device should not need to be calibrated. Rarely, you may find that your strength measurements do not seem as accurate. When this happens, go to Settings > Calibrate your device and tare the device.

How do I use the new attachments?
In your AF2 kit you will find a device with a locking mechanism and shell attachment, as well as a cylindrical attachment. The shell attachment is the standard attachment, designed to be used on flatter body parts. The cylindrical attachment is designed for more angular body part, like a wrist.

To change an attachment, hold the top, softer part of the attachment and turn it to the left. The attachment should easily twist off. Take the new attachment, line it up with the locking mechanism on the device and twist to the right until the attachment is secure.

The locking mechanism is designed to hold the attachments at multiple angles. Keep turning the attachment at 90 degree angles until it locks into the angle you prefer.

See how-to videos for details.

Can I redo a single test within a test series?
After performing a strength or angle measurement test, you will have the option to redo the test. Just tap the “Redo Test” text under the test result screen.

Can I access test data from previous measurement tests I performed in AF2?
No patient data is stored at this time. Once you email a data summary to the email associated with your account or explicitly end a test, the data for the measurements you previously performed is no longer accessible.

Can I store and view patient data later?
No patient data is stored at this time.

Can I create a custom protocol?
Each test series you perform with AF2 is customizable. You can set and store default settings for strength tests, but you cannot create custom protocols at this time.

Are there standard protocols I can use in the new app?
Based on PT feedback, we have done away with standard protocols in favor of measurement tests that are customized for your patient’s injury.

How do I measure a knee or elbow joint that does not have full extension?
Although the AF2 device tests a range of motion, and does not calculate a starting angle, you can still measure a knee or elbow join that does not have full extension. See how-to video for step-by-step instruction.

How do I strength test someone who is stronger than I am?
The web belt may be used to to test a patient or athlete who may be stronger or larger than you.
For more detailed instruction, see How-to video (against wall/ belt)

How can I see a patient’s force to weight ratio?
To view force to weight ratio data, tap the “Enter Weight to see F/W %” button on the Strength Summary screen. You will be asked to enter the patient’s weight, then tap “Calculate F/W %.”

How do I change the email associated with my account?
If you need to update the email associated with you account, please contact [email protected]
