[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]We are in the final stages of assembling the TAO WellShells and wanted to give you another quick status update.
We had a scare last week as there was an issue with the mold – a small crack. If a new mold is needed that equals months of delay. Fortunately our contract manufacturer was able to repair it (that new just came in last week).
We have assembled the final boards as well, so now it’s a matter of getting everything in one place for final assembly. This is not a trivial shipping matter, as different aspects of the hardware have been created in Spain, Bulgaria, Taiwan, and San Jose and international shipping takes time.
Batteries and Heart Rate
We have solved the battery drain issue with our latest firmware update, and finally received the correct material for the heart rate monitor window.
The last big upgrade is with the force sensor, which is being optimized by IDneo in Spain. They added more clearance between the upper chassis and the special rubber-like material (bumpers) that transfers the pressure from the user to the sensor.[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”3833″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]We also will increase the thickness of the bumper slightly.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3834″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]Cloud Server
We are in the testing phase of our cloud server so users can log in, back up their work-out log, receive updates, and share results with friends.
Finally we are making a new mobile game for TAO that incorporates exercise routines into a retro platformer type video game. It’s like using TAO to play other popular mobile games like JetPack JoyRide, SkiSafari, or Go Ninja but with TAO exercises incorporated into the game-play. Details to follow.
All this will be unveiled at CES in January in Las Vegas, and that’s when we’ll start the distribution process to get TAO into the world.
It’s an exciting, albeit intense time – thanks for everyone’s continued support!
